31st january 2011 was a funny day. The fee of £35 million paid for Andy Carroll shocked everyone related to football ,that including me.Well I do understand that transfer fees is highly inflated in today's world(Courtesy Of oil mixing with football)though I knew it was crazy act from liverpool.They were probably trying to show some intention of rebuilding( Its what they call it,I doubt it will ever happen with liverpool).I thought Kenny Dalglish got it all wrong,this football world is crazy and yes liverpool were crazy.

Over this time,i have been proved correct time and time again.His performance is not upto expectations.Does it matter ? He was never a world class and I dont think he would ever be.Around 4 goals in premier league so far is no good for such a price tag.You could buy 2 suarez for that sum of money. Thought about it for a while and I closed this chapter until something came up this week.

A report in the Sunday Mirror claimed that Newcastle's managing director Derek Llambias blasted channel of words in a local bar.
"I have to admit that £30m for Andy Carroll is a lot of money," Lambias reportedly said, before responding when one supporter asked him "Is he worth £30m?": "No - he's worth f*** all."

"It is about control. We had the control. We knew the Torres deal was there. We drew that f****** deal, perhaps the ultimate. So £30m? F*** off! Don't waste my time and I slammed the phone down.

"£35m? Everybody including Pardew ( Alan Pardew) all agreed. But the £35m they wanted to pay over four years. It was rubbish. Mike said - and he is a brave boy Mike I promise you - get all the £35m up front. We got it all up front and then they never paid us on time and we charged them 12 grand f****** interest."

A reason,a polictics,whatever was the case liverpool were fooled. "It is about control. We had the control. We knew the Torres deal was there.” is what I am trying to mention here.I dont think many of the peoples knew things behind this deal.Derek Llambias seems to have cleared the air,a situation difficult to understand.
I hope clubs take a lesson from it.Long term strategic planning is required at such a level.
