Why did Arsenal Failed to win anything this season?

This season was no different for arsenal.It has been three years since the gunners have won anything now.This season certainly showed some promise.But all those early promise came to an drastic end within a week.Their loss to chelsea at Bridge followed by their exit from the champions league was enough to keep them empty handed again.The only thing people will remember from this season of arsenal is their awsome display of football,their own special brand of football.So what were the shortcomings of arsenal this season?Were they really poor or just not good enough to win the titles?Here are some of shortcomings of Arsenal which i think are the main reason for the failures this season.

Was William Gallas really a skipper candidate?
No one will forget Gallas incident against the match against Birmingham.He was not strong enough to face the fact that they have conceded a late penalty.Gunners are surely missing the likes of Henry’s and Berkamp’s in the leadership department.Arsene will surely look for an experience player next season to fill in as a leader.

There’s a popular saying;Kids don’t win titles.The whole squad just had Gilberto as their experience player.Though Fabregas,Flamini have played a good number of matches but inexperiance still shows in them.Arsene’s quality as a talent hunter and groomer is a asset for arsenal but does it mean that most of the first team players should be below 25.Arsenal were leading against Chelsea till 70th minute and also against Liverpool in UCL.Giving away silly penalties under that situation is indeed a sign of inexperiance.Will Arsene look for these things next season?

What happens if one of the regular back four of Arsenal gets injured?Kolo Toure plays as a right back to adjust Philipe Senderos.This weakness was a key factor to their crucial defeats.I never felt that senderos has the quality to fit in to Arsenal Squad.

Gunners were just too much dependent on Adebayor to deliver.The in and out goals from midfields and defenders were completly lacking this season.The likes of Fabregas did showed some early signs but no one was able to deliver during those crucial periods.

This is one thing that I cannot stop thinking of.I really feel that gunners were unlucky this season.The controversial Penalty of Hleb being ruled out was I guess the turning point of the champions league tie.The injury to Carlos Edwardo did not helped either.The late penalty conceded against Birmingham,chelsea,Liverpool were key areas of the failures of Gunners.
